Walk on water with us! We are the local authority on SUP lessons and tours. Fully guided instruction and tours on the calm, inshore waters of the Banana River Lagoon. Safety is a priority, so we always mind the weather and wind. For this reason, we typically meet at our shop and depart from there to the best location that gets us out of the wind. No experience necessary, but you should be a proficient swimmer. We'll help you in every way, and teach you about getting up, paddle strokes, turning, backing up, and getting comfortable on your board. All equipment is included. Our paddling areas include the unique opportunity to experience dolphins and manatees as well, so we always have fun. The lesson/tour runs from 1.5hrs to 2.5 hrs depending on your comfort level. Please arrive ready to get wet, and have towels and a change of clothes handy. We also recommend sunscreen, dry bag for electronics, and bottled water to keep handy.

Enjoy this private, guided paddleboard tour through the world famous Biltmore Estate! Your guide will tell you the history of the Biltmore and help spot local area wildlife like otters, herons, turtles, osprey, eagles, black bear, and deer. After meeting your guide at Asheville Outdoor Center you'll enjoy a shuttle in an air conditioned van to the starting point at Bent Creek, where you'll receive a lesson and expert instruction from your certified paddleboard instructor. Once you feel confident and comfortable on the board you'll follow your guide on a 2.5 hour private paddle down the river. This section of river is beautifully forested and offers views of the Biltmore Estate, which is a Châteauesque-style mansion built by George Washington Vanderbilt II. You'll also learn expert paddleboarding tips and finish back at Asheville Outdoor Center within minutes of restaurants and breweries.

We commence with a safety briefing and then a basic lesson including a full demo from our qualified instructors. Then you get to test your balance in the shallow waters and before you know it you are paddling like a pro! We only paddle on flat water so it is safe, fun & easy. The calm waters here create ease of learning SUP (stand up paddle) and your instructor will be with you every step of the way, you will enjoy SUP fully and want to do it again and again. Our focus is on your safety and fun. Trained paddleboard and kayak guides will make sure the equipment is sized correctly for you and that you are comfortable and safe on the water. Before the rental, a short lesson and description of the area is included. We want you to make the most of your time on the water. Our guides will give a nature report as well---highlighting where to go to see manatees and dolphins as well as explaining a bit about the ecosystem.
