Take a gorgeous, Canadian alpha male, who's fled the rat race and moved to the woods, and add an equally gorgeous, but spoiled, British woman with an attitude and buried submissive tendencies and what do you have? World War III? Love? Maybe a little of both? Disillusioned with the world and all its civilised gadgetry, David Wolf moves to the wilds of Western Canada's forests. Selene Jordan, one of the rich and infamous, is from the UK. She has it all and isn't afraid to show it off, or berate anyone who doesn't have as much. Selene is vacationing in Canada and manages to run her pretty blue sports car into a ditch, and knock herself out in the process. David finds and rescues her, much to his chagrin later. She tries ordering him around and refuses to do anything to help herself or make his life easier. Yet, David keeps his calm. After all, she's not going anywhere, and he's got a plan. Will Selene learn to pull her own weight? Or will David have to teach her a lesson in proper guest etiquette? Sparks fly and emotions run hot as these two vie for the alpha position. A position that only one of them really wants. 1. Language: English. Narrator: Kaz Augustin. Audio sample: http://samples.audible.de/bk/totl/000044/bk_totl_000044_sample.mp3. A brand-new sinfully sexy stand-alone romantic comedy from best-selling authors Lauren Blakely and Lili Valente! When you think about how easy it is to lose keys, phones, sunglasses and your dignity on social media, you might figure it'd be a cinch for me to ditch my V Card. You'd be wrong. At 25, I run a successful business, live in a fantastic apartment, and have fabulous friends to go out with any night of the week. And yet I'm still a card-carrying member of a club I don't want to belong to anymore. Good thing I know just the man for the deflowering job - my brother’s business partner and best friend. Graham Campbell is charming, smart, and, I’m told, oh-so-skilled in the sack. As long as I keep my eyes on the prize, there’s no way this pluck-the-flower project could possibly complicate matters. *** Work and pleasure. As the CEO of a fast-growing company, I've been enjoying both to the fullest. What do I do when the board throws me for an unexpected loop so I can keep my business in my hands? I enlist the help of my best friend's little sister, since she holds a big stake in the company. But then I learn there's another big stake she wants. The one between my legs. I can do this. Seven nights to teach her everything I know in the bedroom. There's no way I'll fall for her, even though she’s earning top grades in every single sinfully sexy lesson. And turns out I’m learning something, too. The trouble is I don’t have the answer key to what to do when I fall hard for her. And that throws a whole new hitch in my plans. 1. Language: English. One of the most important breakthroughs in military technology associated with World War I, and certainly the one that continues to capture the public imagination, was the introduction of a war machine that came to dominate the face of land battles throughout most of the 20th century: the tank. As a concept, it was not revolutionary; in fact, it harkened back to classical antiquity and to the Middle Ages, such as the covered battering rams and testudos that had made frequent appearances on ancient battlefields. In essence, it was designed to solve the age-old problem of protecting infantry from enemy projectiles while remaining mobile. The tanks of World War I, revolutionary (and initially terrifying) as they were, had their limitations. A standard tank would literally consume its own weight in spare parts, and they were painfully slow compared to more modern iterations. They were also lightly armed - usually with machine guns or light guns at most - and some poorly designed models tended to “ditch” themselves, sometimes irretrievably, in wider trenches. However, as a mobile bastion for infantry to shelter behind in the advance, and as a psychological weapon, they were significant. All major powers, and many minor ones, learned their lesson in World War I. During the interwar period (late 1918 to mid-1939), a wide variety of tanks and anti-tank weapons were developed by a number of different countries, and those nations that did not have their own models hastened to purchase some from the more advanced countries. These tanks would shape the war that was to come. World War II was thus the culmination of a quarter century of tank development, and it would also be the first major test of tanks in mobile warfare, during which they had to face other tanks. However, many of the tanks were constructed with the static warfare of the Western Front in mind and were thus slow and had short operational ranges. Others were too light to face opposing 1.
