This tour is different from all other bike tours in Amsterdam. The one and only thing I dislike about traveling is getting stuck in a tourist trap and feeling like a number.I don't really consider myself a tour guide. To be honest, I don't really like tour guides, or most of them anyway. Consider me your personal friend for a day. My tour evolves around storytelling and entertainment and my main concern is that everyone is having a great time.Naturally, I will also tell you a about the socio-cultural background of Amsterdam and why it's unique to be Dutch. But it's not a history lesson, I won't bore you with years and numbers. Instead I frame my knowledge around stories and tales, mostly from my personal experience living in the city.Unfortunatly, I don't have many reviews yet on Tripadvisor as I just uploaded my tour here. I can't wait to share my passion about Amsterdam and my love for cycling with you. So hop on!
Megan is a 13-year-old teenage girl who realizes that she has psychic powers that others do not have. At first, she tried to talk to her mother about them, but with disastrous consequences, so she learned to keep quiet about them. However, some people do offer to help, and an animal showed a special friendship, but they were not "alive" in the normal sense of the word. They had passed on.Megan has three such friends: Wacinhinsha, her spirit guide, who had been Sioux in his last life on Earth; her maternal grandfather, Gramps; and a huge Siberian tiger called Grrr. Wacinhinsha is extremely knowledgeable in all things spiritual, psychic, and paranormal; her grandfather is a novice "dead person"; and Grrr can only speak Tiger, as one might imagine, and most of that, of course, is unintelligible to humans. In this audiobook, one summer’s day during the school holidays, Megan and Jane decide to go cycling in the countryside. They stop for lunch in a village en route, and Jane gets her first lesson in seeing and touching Grrr, Megan’s friendly ghost Siberian tiger. After resting, they get back underway on the second half of their circular journey. Suddenly, they come across an injured cyclist and get him to hospital. The grateful boy and his parents want to thank Megan and Jane, and a long friendship ensues, beginning with riding lessons on Will’s family’s farm. It leads to great benefits for the two girls, and Megan’s knowledge expands when she meets her mount, and later when her spirit guide answers her questions. 1. Language: English. This audiobook is a coming of age story set in juvenile detention, with seven boys, manacled and in leg irons, learning the two rules required for playing chess and succeeding in life. In the process, they find their way out of prison and back to freedom. Two Rules unravels the dilemma of forgotten children, an abandoned education system, and the man who changes the rules of the game for his underprivileged students. In the walls of the classroom in the inner city and a juvenile detention facility, Dr. Dempsey guides his students through the rules and orientation of the game of chess, ultimately altering the course of their lives and his. On a daily rotation from juvenile detention lockup to a nearby school and back, Two Rules opens with seven teenage boys on the first day of meeting their new teacher and friend, Dr. Jack Dempsey. Each boy soon discovers the rules of chess, a learning strategy, and roadmap that will leave each student empowered in ways they have never before experienced. After running a permanent new hire out of their classroom and cycling through a string of substitute teachers, a class of special education students embarks on a journey that will end up significantly altering the course of their lives. Each student learns from the example set by their teacher who extends a bridge for each student to rewire each of their destinies. Dempsey's understanding of his students’ perceived behavioral and learning challenges as inherent strengths allow the worthy old man to powerfully capture the attention of his students and provide tools for their eventual success. The boys discover a glimpse of a future that transcends the rough but fragile cocoon insulating each of the student's harsh realities in the hopeless setting of their detention facility outside of their safe sanctuary of a classroom. Dempsey transforms a once simple exercise of trust-building into a powerful lesson in the two rules 1. Language: English. Narrator: Benjamin Allen.
